Jennilie Brewster

For my Landscape and Mark Making project at KS4, I am asking pupils to create landscapes from memory. We have been exploring mark making, tone and how artists create movement or atmosphere. We are about to move onto creating our own landscapes from memory using the techniques we’ve looked at. I have been looking for relevant artists and came across the work of landscape artist Jennilie Brewster, which I absolutely love!

Her pieces are huge and incorporate many of the elements we are exploring in class; mark making, collage and memories. I am going to use the work for discussion in lessons to have pupils develop their landscapes, and to include strange and unusual features.
